The Fighting Saints Varsity Gymnastics team fought hard but came up short against the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets in last night’s conference meet.  The Lady Saints had an impressive 136.75 team score, but was topped by the Bluejackets score of 142.6.  Felicia Bartell had a vault score of 9.025 (4th place), bars score of 9.0 (2nd place), a remarkable beam score of 9.1 (1st place) and floor score of 9.175 (3rd place) giving her an all-around score of 36.375 and 2nd place overall.  Allie Frank performed strong with an 8.5 on vault, 7.925 (5th place) on bars, 8.95 (2nd place) on beam and 8.65 on floor with an all-around score of 34.025 placing 5th overall. Summer Helland brought in an 8.75 (5th place) on vault and 7.775 on bars and an all-around of 33.425 coming in at 6th place overall.  Maleia St Hilaire placed 7th on beam with a score of 8.625.

In the combined Varsity/JV all-around, Carolyn Helland had a 3rd place score of 31.05, Morgan Goebel placed 4th with a score of 29.775 and Jessi Mehregan with a score of 29.6 and a 5th place finish.

The JV numbers were limited last night with three gymnasts out of some or all rotations.  Our JV girls put their best foot forward though and Riley Lawin scored an 8 on vault and a 6.1 on floor.

Their next meet will be the Varsity Invitational at Lakeville North High School on Saturday January 14th, 2017 at 9 am.

Go Saints!!!
