Game Recap

Today the Fighting Saints traveled to Princeton for a conference game. The Saints were able to get runners on right away in the first inning with an error and fielder’s choice with no outs, but could not push a run through in the first.
The game would stay 0-0 through the fourth inning, when the Saints were led by Emma Lero’s lead-off single, followed by an error on Emily Sarell’s hit to right field, and then a RBI single from Ally Mathwig to score the game’s first run. Mathwig’s single was followed with an RBI single for Ella Roberts and then a triple from Brenna McMahon that drove in 2 more runs. After the 4th inning had ended the Saints had pushed 6 runs through to take a very commanding lead and they never looked back the rest of the game.
The Saints were led on the mound again tonight by senior, Alex Marron, who threw the complete game again for the victory and only allowed three hits and struck out 9 batters.
Offensively, the Saints were led by Brenna McMahon going 2 for 3 with a single and triple, one run and 2 RBI’s. As well as Ella Roberts who was 2 for 4, with 2 singles, 2 runs, and 1 RBI.
The Saints next game is on Thursday at home vs. conference opponent North Branch at 4:30pm.
