The Boys Varsity Soccer Team opened its season with an away game at Rocori.  It took only 2 minutes and 18 seconds for Jack Wangensteen to take a ball from about 30 yards out and dribble through the defenders to put the ball in the goal.  At 18 and a half minutes Glenn Gbakoyah took a pass from Cory Harmon and hit a zinger passed the goalkeeper.  Nate Atkinson continued the first half scoring by carrying the ball passed the defenders and scoring 25 minutes into the game.  In the second half Cory Harmon hit an off-balance shot from about 35 yards out that was out of the reach of the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the game.  Then Mitch Bentley hit a scorching 35 yard free kick at 76 minutes to finish the scoring.  Koby Duchene kept the opponents from scoring with a great save on a free kick at the 50th minute of the game.  Adam Mott maintained the shut-out for the final 20 minutes as goalkeeper.  The JV team also began the season with a nice win with many players finding the goal.  The final score was St. Francis 13 Rocori 0.
