Multiple Teams · Santiago for MVP

  Near the end of each high school football season various media outlets recognize the accomplishments of various high school football players.  This year, KARE 11 is conducting an online poll for the MVP award of the metro area.  One of our players, John Santiago is among the players eligible for the award. John had a very memorable senior year and will go down as one of the best to ever play football at St. Francis.

His stats are listed below:

During the 2014 season  (John’s senior year.) our team went 8-2 (scoring 45.9 pts/gm #2 in class 5A)

John Santiago has started for our team as a Punt and Kick Returner, Defensive Back and Running Back.

As a sophomore he had 140 carries, 848 yards (6.1/car.) with 10 TDs; he also had 3 receptions for 16 yards.
As a junior he had 79 carries for 663 yards (8.4/car.) with 5 TDs; he also had 3 receptions for 60 yards and 2 TDs.  During his junior year John played behind the Blue Division Mississippi 8 Conference MVP; running back Max Gust.
As a senior he had 165 carries for 1859 yards (11.3/car) with 24  TDs; he also had 10 receptions for 207 yards and 1 TD.  John’s stat’s are through only 9 games as he missed 2 games due to injury!

384 carries for 3,370 yards (8.8 yds/car) with 39 TDs.
16 receptions for 283 yards (17.7 yds/rec) with 3 TDs.

For those of you that do not know John; he is hard working, kind, and caring. He is more than deserving of this award!
