Girls Junior Varsity Gymnastics, Girls Varsity Gymnastics · Lady Saints Start Season with a Win Against Rogers

The Varsity Saints Gymnastics team took to the floor on Thursday and started off the new season with a BIG win against the Roger’s Royals.  The final team score was 136.975 for the Saints vs. 134.95 for the Royals.  The Saints looked strong and clean which led them to take four out of five of the top places All-Around with Felicia Bartell commanding 1st, with a score of 35.6, Summer Helland in 2nd with a 35.45, Allie Frank in 4th with a 33.725 and Lauryn Perry in 5th with a 32.2.

In individual Varsity action, Felicia Bartell took 1st place on Bars, tied for 1st on Vault, and 3rd on Beam and Floor.  Summer Helland tied for 1st on Vault, took 1st on Beam and Floor and 4th on Bars.  Allie Frank took 4th on Floor.   It was a strong showing for our Varsity team on all rotations.

In JV action, the team had a great start to their season with a strong All-Around score of 110.5 but that just wasn’t enough for the win against the Royals who managed a 122.8.  Still this was a great score for the JV girls – one of the highest in the past two years.   And every girl on the team competed in at least one event – a milestone in itself.  The Saint’s Amelia Holm took 2nd place All-Around with a score of 27.4 along with placing 5th on Vault.  Savanna Lanz claimed the 3rd place All-Around.  Lia Mehregan got 1st place in Vault and 5th place on Floor.  Emma Oman took 3rd on Vault.

Awesome job ladies!  Next week, the Saints will be hosting the Chisago Lakes Wildcats at home (SFMS) on Tuesday December 11, 2018 at 6:30 pm.  Come out and cheer on the Saints Gymnastics team in their first home meet of the season.  Go Saints!
