Coed Junior Varsity Cross Country, Coed Varsity Cross Country · Saints Cross Country teams race in Big Lake


The Fighting Saints cross country team raced in Big Lake on Tuesday, September 20. Leading the girls’ team was sophomore Kylie Wolfe who ran 21:54 for the varsity 5k race, earning an 8th place finish and a meet T-shirt as an award. Also scoring points for the varsity team included sophomore Sydney Hauck who ran a time of 23:39.24 and freshman Maria Laudenbach with a time of 24:00.00. The girls team placed 6th overall.

Leading the boys’ team included sophomore Lucas Barth who placed 16th overall with a finishing time of 18:28 for the varsity 5k race. Also scoring points for the varsity team included junior Alex Fuchs with a new personal record of 19:14 for the season, and junior Tyler Fingal with a time of 19:15. Sophomore Reid Benson earned a new personal record of 19:55 and senior Conor Sullivan finished with a time of 19:59. The boys’ team also placed 6th overall.

Saints News · Saints Boys Soccer Defeats North Branch 4-1


The Saints boys soccer team traveled to North Branch on Tuesday night and defeated the Vikings 4-1 behind 4 goals by Logan Daniels.  With his first goal of the night Logan broke the all-time goal scoring record for St. Francis Fighting Saints with his 55th career goal.  Logan has scored 16 goals this season and with his 3 additional goals against the Vikings has 58 total for his career.  Congratulations Logan on this outstanding accomplishment.  Andrew Peterson assisted on one goal with Hunter Dustman tallying an assist on another.  Our boys play at home against Chisago Lakes on Thursday and against Delano at 3pm this Saturday.

Coed Junior Varsity Cross Country, Coed Varsity Cross Country · Saints Home Cross Country Meet


The Fighting Saints hosted a cross country meet at the Ponds Golf Course in St. Francis on Thursday, September 15. Although weather was dreary, the Saints powered through the rain, with over half the team earning new personal records.

Leading the boys’ team was Sophomore Lucas Barth who earned a new personal record of 18:10 for the Varsity 5k. Also scoring points for the team was senior Andrew Miller with a new personal record of 18:25, Junior Tyler Fingal with a new personal record of 18:30, senior Conor Sullivan with a new personal record of 18:31, and senior Lucas Maiers with a new personal record of 19:13. The boys team placed seventh overall.

Leading the girls’ team was sophomore Kylie Wolfe who earned a new season record of 21:43. Also scoring points for the girls’ team was sophomore Sydney Hauck with a new season record of 23:17, freshman Maria Laudenbach with a time of 24:35, sophomore Grace Wunderlich with a new season record of 25:02, and junior Hannah Solberg with a new season record of 25:18. The girls’ team placed eighth overall.

The Fighting Saints Cross Country team will race next in Big Lake on Tuesday, September 20.

  1. Call to Order

*The meeting was called to order by President Cassie Calametti at 6:04 PM.

*The minutes from June 9, 2016 were reviewed, approved and accepted.

Coach Becki Hanson:

*Registration as of today was 13 total students = 9 boys and 4 girls (5 new to program)

*Sent an email to NHS for volunteers for concessions and tags at the end of races. Prefer someone who can be there for the entire meet.

*Heggies was sent out last week.

*Discussion on uniform deposit checks and what was done with them until end of season.

*4 concession dates for CC, all in winter.

*Discussion on if the money earned from CC concessions can be transferred between CC and track. Clarification was made that it is fine to transfer between the two.

*Booked a date between conference and sections at FMSC.

Coach Mark Hanson:

*Working on scheduling currently – one meet possibly on Thursday, April 13 since Easter is Sunday, April 16. Other meet likely Saturday, May 20, 2017.

*Two indoor meets this year – St. Cloud indoor meet possibly Friday, March 24, and St. Michael indoor meet Tuesday, March 28.

*Practice starts March 13, 2017.

*March booster meeting will be March 15 to avoid spring break.

*Mahtomedi meet will happen this year.

*Discussion on shorts from Aho – possibly offering 2-3 different styles for athletes to purchase.

Coach Brittney Moffatt:

*Uniform deposits worked out well

*Discussion on how to keep numbers on the uniforms to know which athletes returned their uniform since permanent marker wore off.

* Coach M. Hanson suggested having the “I Run” shirts at the CC meet this fall.

*Discussion on possible changes to scholarship process for next year by giving 4 X $500 scholarships.

*B. Moffatt suggested allowing either gender to receive a scholarship rather than one boy and one girl.

Motion made to allow either gender to receive the scholarship as stated above. Approved and accepted***Cassie/Cindy

*Future fundraising was discussed. Heggie’s will not be used for SFTFCC since there is an agreement between high school coaches to not double up during same season.

*B. Moffatt explained Scratch-offs cards for new members. Matt/Charlene

Motion made to purchase 20 cards at a cost of $5 each, and as a reward incentive for selling the entire card student athletes will receive $10-$20 Scrip cards from Subway or Chipotle. Approved and accepted ***Matt/Charlene

*Coach Moffatt will take care of ordering and purchasing the cards and be reimbursed by the SFTFCC Booster Club.
